Career

Cassy graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia in 2008. After completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies, Cassy was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in December 2009. Between mid-2007 and January 2010, Cassy worked for Slater & Gordon in Perth as a law clerk and lawyer in the litigation (asbestos) division.

Between 2012 and 2014, Cassy practised as a lawyer at De Silva Hebron in Darwin. She was an Associate and then Director of Priestleys Lawyers (now Maurice Blackburn) between 2014 to 2015, and Senior Associate and then Director of Piper Ellis Lawyers between 2016 and 2021. Cassy has extensive civil litigation experience, predominantly in negligence claims, medico-legal matters, workers compensation cases and health regulation law. She was previously a registered nurse (2004-2010) and has worked as an AHPRA investigator (2011) and investigations and review consultant with the NT Department of Health (2015-2016). She has an interest in Environmental Law, and is enrolled in a Master of Environmental Law at the University of Newcastle. She has been a sessional member at NTCAT since 2017.

In August 2021, Cassy was called to the Bar and joined William Forster Chambers.
