Daniel O’Gorman SC is a barrister at Roma Mitchell Chambers in Brisbane, Queensland.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, both from the University of Queensland.
He was first admitted as a barrister in New South Wales in 1985, and he has worked continuously as a barrister at the private Bar in Brisbane since 1988.
Dan has extensively represented Indigenous people in both criminal and civil cases. Some prominent cases in which he has appeared include Bligh & Ors v State of Queensland (1996) EOC 92-848 (relating to the non-payment of award wages on reserves run by the Queensland Government, particularly on Palm Island), Baird v State of Queensland [2005] FCA 495 (relating to the non-payment of award wages on reserves run by Churches, particularly at Hope Vale and Wujal Wujal) and Morton v Queensland Police Service [2006] FCAFC 162 (relating to the Alcohol Management Plan on Palm Island). He also has a great deal of experience of working with people from other cultures, having conducted advocacy training for barristers in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal and Solomon Islands over the past 15 years.
Dan was appointed Senior Counsel in 2006.
