Jodi was born and bred in the Northern Territory.  She commenced her career in general litigation at DeSilva Hebron before moving to the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission and specialising in family and criminal law, particularly juvenile matters.

In 2001 Jodi commenced at Halfpennys Lawyers continuing her practice in family and criminal law, both defending and prosecuting and also returning to a general litigation practice.  Jodi is also an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

In 2006 she was called to the Bar and has conducted a number of criminal trials and appeals, whilst at the same time acting as counsel in property and children’s matters in the Family and Federal Magistrates Court, both at first instance and on appeal.  Jodi has also developed an expertise in coronials, administrative law, anti-discrimination, child welfare, disciplinary proceedings, estate and licensing matters.  She also continues to undertake Family Dispute Resolution conferences. She also continues to undertake Family Dispute Resolution conferences and is an Accredited Arbitrator under the Family Law Act
