Josh is a long term Territorian, growing up in Katherine and studying law in Darwin at CDU. Josh volunteered his time with the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) in 2008 before being admitted as a legal practitioner in 2009 in the Northern Territory. Josh spent his first year as the Associate to the Honorable Justice Trevor Riley before being employed as a solicitor with the Solicitor for the Northern Territory, spending time in the Commercial Division and the Office of the DPP before settling into the Litigation Division in the SFNT Head Office. Josh’s last position with the SFNT was as an Agency Lawyer in the Department of Health.

Josh has advised on matters and represented the Territory Crown in the NTCAT, Local Court (and CSJ) and the NT Supreme Court in a wide variety of areas and for a variety of Government Agencies/Units including: Crime Victim Services Unit, Teacher Registration Board, Animal Welfare, Parks and Wildlife, Department of Health, Licensing, SAFE NT, NT Police Fire and Emergency Services, CEO Housing, and Department of Attorney General & Justice.

Josh has held appointments with the Working with Children Screening Authority, as an Assessor under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act, and as a Commissioner’s Delegate in the Residential Tenancies and Residential Building Disputes jurisdictions.

Josh joined William Forster Chambers in July 2016.
